Richard B. Cheney an prominent public servant and businessman is the vice-president of the United States. Cheney has become a regular face on the Washington political landscape, has served under several U.S. presidents George W. Bush and George H.W. Bush. He will serve as the fourth vice president, and is the elected president. Bush decided to choose Cheney as his Vice President in July of 2000. Bush cited Cheney's experience and insight. Cheney claims that the position he will play within the administration as one of a frank but discreet adviser to Bush. Cheney expressed excitement about taking the Republican vice-presidential nod. He stated that Cheney is eager to work alongside a president who will collaborate with those who have differing political opinions and who share the same goal. Richard Bruce Cheney is the son of Richard Herbert Cheney of the late Marjorie Lauraine Dickey. He was born on the 30th of January 1941 at Lincoln Nebraska. As a 13-year-old, Richard Bruce moved with his parents from Nebraska to Casper (in the US state of Wyoming) which is where his father served as director of the U.S. Department of Agriculture's the district for soil conservation.
